Beschreibung

General description

A cell-permeable and orally available nitrofuran-based antidiarrheal agent that effectively suppresses the activation of cellular STAT1/3/5 transcription activity (IC₅₀ = 3 µM against IL-6-induced STAT3 activation in U3A cells), while exhibiting little effect against TNF-α-induced NF-_κB activation in 293 cells. Shown to inhibit cellular tyrosine phosphorylations of JAK2/TYK2/STAT3 (IC₅₀ = 10 µM against tyr⁷⁰⁵ of STAT3 in U266 cells), but not those of Akt/EGFR/JAK1/MAPK/Src or the ser⁷²⁷ phosphorylation of STAT3.
