A new internal standard suitable for numerous GC/MS and LC/MS applications from clinical toxicology testing and forensic analysis to urine drug testing and isotope dilution methods. Modafinil is an analeptic drug sold under the brand names Provigil^® or Modavigil^® and approved by the US FDA for the treatment of narcolepsy, shift work sleep disorder, and excessive daytime sleepiness. A well known nootropic, the drug is often used as a performance-enhancer in academics and sports.
