Silver(I) chloride is a off-white solid which is slightly soluble in water. Silver(I) chloride turns black in the presence of heat, indicating the formation of silver.
It can be produced easily through the combination of silver nitrate, sodium chloride, or cobalt(II) chloride.

Application

Silver chloride (AgCl) is widely employed as a catalyst, photographic material, and ionic semiconductor material.


Silver chloride (AgCl) can be used for a variety of applications such as: the coating on the silver wire that can be used as a reference electrode in electrochemistry
