General description

Zinc chloride solution is a colorless liquid that contains zinc chloride dissolved in THF. Its synthesis has been reported.[1]

Application

Zinc chloride solution was used in the synthesis of the ferrocenylarenes.[2]
It may be used for the in situ generation of organozincate reagents by reacting with Grignard compounds[3] and also to catalyze chloromethylation of resins for solid phase peptide synthesis.[1]
