Recently, we cloned a novel serine/threonine kinase termed protein kinase D2 (PKD2). PKD2 can be activated by phorbol esters both in vivo and in vitro but also by gastrin via the cholecystokinin/CCK(B) receptor in human gastric cancer cells stably transfected

Phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 5-kinase type-1C (PIP5K1C) is a lipid kinase that regulates focal adhesion dynamics and cell attachment through site-specific formation of phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate (PI4,5P2). Tumour angiogenesis is crucially dependent on the communication between the tumour and the associated endothelium. Protein kinase D (PKD) isoenzymes mediate vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A) induced endothelial cell proliferation and migration and are also highly expressed in various tumours.
