Features and Benefits

MAL-dPEG®11-lipoamide is a crosslinker designed to allow crosslinking of a sulfhydryl-containing molecule with a metal surface such as gold or silver. The hydrophilic, non-immunogenic, single molecular weight dPEG® spacer is 59.3 Å long, providing good separation between the target molecule and the metal surface. The spacer also increases the hydrodynamic volume of the conjugate and improves its water solubility. The maleimide function forms a thioether bond with a sulfhydryl group. One possible application of this product is immobilization of an antibody or antibody fragment onto a metal surface. Peptides and small molecules with free sulfhydryl groups could also be used in this way.
