Gene Information

General description

The Pleckstrin homology domain-containing family A, member 7 (PLEKHA7) gene is located on the human chromosome 11p15.2-p15.1. The encoded protein is compsed of WW, pleckstrin homology (PH) and coiled-coil (CC) domains. It is a part of cadherin-based protein complex in mammalian epithelial cells.

Specificity

Anti-PLEKHA7 (N-terminal) recognizes human PLEKHA7.

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to the N- terminal region of human PLEKHA7, conjugated to KLH. The corresponding sequence differs by two amino acids in mouse.

Application

Anti-PLEKHA7 (N-terminal) antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for:
  • immunoblotting
  • immunoprecipitation
  • immunofluorescence

Biochem/physiol Actions

Pleckstrin homology domain-containing family A, member 7 (PLEKHA7) protein is involved in the cadherin-based protein complex mediated anchoring of microtubule minus ends to the zonula adherens (ZA). This process is neccessary for the biogenesis of specialized junction. PLEKHA7 forms complexes with E-cadherin and cadherin associated protein p120-catenin complexes. It significantly aids in the translocation of NEZHA to the ZA.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Storage and Stability

For continuous use, store at 2-8 °C for up to one month. For extended storage, freeze in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing, or storage in “frost-free” freezers,is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilutions should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
