Información sobre el gen

human ... BAT3(7917)

Descripción general

BAT3 is a gene from major histocompatibility complex. In humans, it is localized in the class III region of the human major histocompatibility complex on chromosome 6. It consists of an ubiquitin homology region at the N-terminal end, short tracts of polyproline and polyglycine, a zinc finger-like domain and a nuclear localization signal (NLS) at the C- terminus end. It is a member of BAG family of proteins. The major responsibility of BAG proteins is to negatively control the chaperone function of the Hsp70 family.

Inmunógeno

Immunogen Sequence: GI # 18375632, sequence 2-250
Recombinant HLA-B associated transcript-3 isoform b

Aplicación

Anti-BAT3 antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.

Acciones bioquímicas o fisiológicas

Large proline-rich protein BAT3 is a protein encoded by the BAT3 gene in humans. It is very rich in proline and includes short tracts of polyproline, polyglycine and charged amino acids. BAT3 is similar to other proteins with large proline-rich domains, such as some nuclear proteins, collagens, elastin and synapsin. It has distinct functions in the cytosol and in the nucleus. It is also associated with controlling of apoptosis and regulating heat shock protein (HSP) 70 activity.
