Aplicación

Sodium tetraphenylborate (NaTPB) may be used as an anion discriminator in the poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) based membrane potentiometric sensor for the determination of copper in aqueous solutions.[2] Its addition to membranes has been proven to be beneficial towards optimizing sensing selectivity and decreasing bulk membrane impedance which result in substantial improvement of Cu2+ -selective potentiometric sensor performance.[3] NaTBP has also been investigated as a lipophilic additive in terbium(III) membrane electrode for its potential response towards terbium(III) ions.[4] It may be used as an aqueous derivatization reagent for organomercury prior to its determination in environmental samples by gas chromatography (GC) combined with atomic fluorescence spectrometry (AFS), microwave-induced plasma atomic emission spectrometry (AES), and mass spectrometry (MS).[5]
