General description
Transforming Growth Factor-β 2 (TGF-β 2) is a protein produced by many cells and is found in the highest concentration in mammalian bone and porcine platelets. In body fluids like breast milk, amniotic fluid as well as the aqueous and vitreous humor of the eye, the prominent form exist is Latent TGF-β2. It has a pivotal role in regulating invasion in high-grade gliomas by inducing mesenchymal phenotype and remodeling the extracellular matrix. Anti-Transforming Growth Factor-β2 antibody can be used in neutralization and immunohistochemistry. Goat anti-TGF-β 2 antibody reacts specifically with human and porcine TGF-β 2 and TGF-β 1.2. The product has also shown less than 2% cross-reactivity for TGF-β 1, TGF-β 3 and TGF-β 5.
Specificity
The antibody recognizes TGF-β2 and TGF-β1.2. By immunoblotting (non-reducing conditions) and ELISA, the antibody shows less than 2% cross-reactivity with TGF-β1, TGF-β3, and TGF-β5.
Immunogen
porcine transforming growth factor-β2.
Application
Anti-Transforming Growth Factor-β2 antibody can be used in western blotting and ELISA.
Physical form
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline containing carbohydrates.

Microglia, the immune cells of the CNS, play essential roles in both physiological and pathological brain states. Here we have used an in vitro model to demonstrate neuroprotection of a 48 h-microglial conditioned medium (MCM) towards cerebellar granule neurons (CGNs)

Lactate dehydrogenase type A (LDH-A) is a key metabolic enzyme catalyzing pyruvate into lactate and is excessively expressed by tumor cells. Transforming growth factor-beta2 (TGF-beta2) is a key regulator of invasion in high-grade gliomas, partially by inducing a mesenchymal phenotype

The TGF-beta's are multifunctional, pleiotropic molecules with major effects in control of cellular migration, cellular proliferation, and elaboration of extracellular matrix. Thus far, five distinct isoforms of TGF-beta have been described, each approximately 65-85% homologous and containing the characteristic 9
