Anti-Tyrosine Hydroxylase Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Tyrosine Hydroxylase protein.
The TH (tyrosine Hydroxylase) gene codes for a homotetramer that contains catalytic, regulatory, and tetramerization domains in each of its subunit.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Tyrosine Hydroxylase.
Immunogen Range: 41-90
Application
Anti-Tyrosine Hydroxylase, N-Terminal antibody produced in rabbit has ben used in immunohistochemistry.
Biochem/physiol Actions
The conversion of l-tyrosine into l-DOPA (L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine) is catalyzed by tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), which is the rate-limiting step in the in the synthesis of catecholamines such as dopamine and also other necessary hormones and neuromodulators. The TH enzyme deficiency results in low levels of dopamine, which is characterised in Parkinson′s disease.

Parkinsonism & related disorders, 23, 86-90 (2016-01-07)
Many of the symptoms and signs of Parkinson's disease (PD) arise from the death of midbrain dopamine neurons that utilize tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) as the rate-limiting enzyme in catecholamine biosynthesis. We investigated whether the presence of a common TH polymorphism
