Lipopolysaccarides from Escherichia coli O26:B6 are expected to only interact with Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4). Similar lipopolysaccharides from Porphyromonas gingivalis have demonstrated the ability to bind with both TLR2 and TLR4. This observation is described more fully in the peer-reviewed publication, "Effects of serotype and species dependency of bacterial lipopolysaccharides in human melanocytes from lightly and darkly-pigmented skin," and in its associated citations.
