Application

Cellotriose, a 3-glucose cellulodextrin derived from cellulose degradation similar to cellulobiose (2-glucose), cellulotetralose (4-glucose), and cellulopentaose (5-glucose), is used by cellulosic bacteria as sources of energy. It may be used to help identify, differentiate and characterize oligosaccharide metabolizing enzymes such as endoglucanases and β-glucosidase(s). Cellotriose may be used in saccharification and ethanol fermentation research.
