Application

Soy Lyso PI or L-α-lysophosphatidylinositol (Soy) (sodium salt) has been used:
  • in giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs), to measure the effect of LysoPI on membrane bending rigidity
  • as an exogenous lysophospholipid to study its effect on clathrin-dependent endocytosis
  • as a substrate to measurement the glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterases (GP-PDE) and lysophospholipase D activities of the two recombinant mouse GDE4 and GDE7 proteins

Biochem/physiol Actions

Lysophosphatidylinositol (LPI) is a bioactive lipid, involved as a signaling mediator in many biological events. It controls cell growth, differentiation and motility. LPI is associated with pathological processes such as cancer cell proliferation.

The Journal of biological chemistry, 290(7), 4260-4271 (2014-12-22)
The known mammalian glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterases (GP-PDEs) hydrolyze glycerophosphodiesters. In this study, two novel members of the mammalian GP-PDE family, GDE4 and GDE7, were isolated, and the molecular basis of mammalian GP-PDEs was further explored. The GDE4 and GDE7 sequences are

Metabolites, 6(1) (2016-01-20)
Metabolism is a chemical process used by cells to transform food-derived nutrients, such as proteins, carbohydrates and fats, into chemical and thermal energy. Whenever an alteration of this process occurs, the chemical balance within the cells is impaired and this

In this study, we have investigated how clathrin-dependent endocytosis is affected by exogenously added lysophospholipids (LPLs). Addition of LPLs with large head groups strongly inhibits transferrin (Tf) endocytosis in various cell lines, while LPLs with small head groups do not.

Coat protein complex II (COPII) proteins form vesicles from the endoplasmic reticulum to export cargo molecules to the Golgi apparatus. Among the many proteins involved in this process, Sec12 is a key regulator, functioning as the guanosine diphosphate (GDP) exchange
