ZooMAb antibodies represent an entirely new generation of recombinant monoclonal antibodies.

Each ZooMAb antibody is manufactured using our proprietary recombinant expression system, purified to homogeneity, and precisely dispensed to produce robust and highly reproducible lot-to-lot consistency. Only top-performing clones are released for use by researchers. Each antibody is validated for high specificity and affinity across multiple applications, including its most commonly used application. ZooMAb antibodies are reliably available and ready to ship when you need them.

Specificity

Clone 7I23 is a ZooMAb rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that specifically detects Brain lipid-binding protein (BLBP).

Immunogen

GST/His-tagged full-length recombinant human Brain lipid-binding protein.

Application

Anti-BLBP/FABP7, clone 7I23 ZooMAb, Cat. No. ZRB13190, is a a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody that specifically detects Brain lipid-binding protein (BLBP) and has been tested for use in Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin), and Western Blotting.
Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected BLBP/FABP7 in rat brain, human brain, and His-tagged recombinant FABP 2,3,4,7.

Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected BLBP/FABP7 in human brain tissue sections.

Immunofluorescence Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected BLBP/FABP7 in human cerebellum tissue sections.

Note: Actual optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user as specimens, and experimental conditions may vary with the end user.

Target description

Fatty acid-binding protein, brain (UniProt: O15540; also known as Brain lipid-binding protein, BLBP, Brain-type fatty acid-binding protein, B-FABP, Fatty acid-binding protein 7, Mammary-derived growth inhibitor related) is encoded by the FABP7 (also known as BLBP, FABPB, MRG) gene (Gene ID: 2173) in human. FABP7 is a member of the large family of hydrophobic ligand-binding proteins (FABPs). FABP proteins are involved in lipid metabolism, including uptake and intracellular trafficking of fatty acids and retinoids. They also play a role in gene regulation, cell signaling, cell growth, and differentiation. FABP7 is a brain-specific protein that is required for the establishment of the radial glial fiber system in the developing brain, a system that is necessary for the migration of immature neurons to establish cortical layers. It is expressed at high levels in the developing central nervous system. It is shown to be important in early nervous system development and is expressed in astrocytes and neuronal cell precursors in mature brain. FABP7 expression is reported to be higher during the light period and lower during the dark in brain regions involved in sleep and activity mechanisms. It is found in melanocytic lesions and has shown to regulate proliferation and invasion in melanoma cells in vitro, suggesting that it may play a role in cell proliferation and invasion. This ZooMAb recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals. Physical form

Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL.

Reconstitution

300 μg/mL after reconstitution at 25 μL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type.

Storage and Stability

Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
