General description

1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrachloroaluminate is an ionic liquid that can be prepared by reacting 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride with aluminum chloride hexahydrate.

Application

1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrachloroaluminate can be used as an efficient catalyst in tetrahydropyranylation of alcohols, and detetrahydropyranylation of THP (tetrahydropyranyl) protected ethers.
It can also be used as:
  • A catalyst to synthesize linear alkylbenzenes by alkylation of benzene with 1-dodecene.
  • A solvent in extractive desulfurization of oil products.

In this paper, we present the design of reinforced silica-filled elastomer composites exhibiting a high transparency, high mechanical performance in static and dynamic conditions, and improved electrical conductivity. Two different imidazolium ionic liquids (ILs) were used with increasing loads: 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium
