General description

Sodium percarbonate is a powerful oxidizing agent as it releases oxygen upon decomposition in the presence of water or when exposed to moisture. This property makes it an oxygen source/green oxidant in various applications such as disinfection and wastewater treatment. It is also considered as a promising substitute for H2O2.

Application

Sodium percarbonate can be used:
  • To prepare polycaprolactone (PCL)-based oxygen-releasing nanofibers for wound dressing.
  • For the degradation of Bisphenol A and aniline via advanced oxidation processes.
