General description

Cetrimide agar is recommended for the selective isolation and identification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The use of cetrimide (N-Cetyl-N,N,N-trimethyl ammonium bromide) largely inhibits the growth of the accompanying microbial flora minimizes interference with the growth of P. aeruginosa. This medium does not inhibit the pigment production of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Application

Cetrimide agar (or Pseudomonas selective agar) is used for the isolation and differentiation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa from pharmaceutical products and various other materials.

Footnote

We offer two media types: the superior granulated GranuCult® and the cost-efficient powdered NutriSelect® culture media, depending on your needs.
The designations basic, plus, or prime are added to indicate the quality control level, from basic quality control to standard QC plus to prime for full regulatory compliance.
