General description

Oncostatin M (OSM) is a multifunctional hematopoietic cytokine that belongs to the interleukin-6 (IL-6) cytokine family. Human OSM is produced by activated T lymphocytes and monocytes mainly during inflammatory disorders. OSM acts as a cell growth modulator. In addition, it also participates in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor upregulation and induction of hematopoietic factors. OSM contributes to the inflammatory process, autoimmunity, and immunopathogenesis of cancers.

Immunogen

Recombinant Human OSM

Application

The Human Oncostatin M (OSM) ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of human Oncostatin M in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, and urine.

Oncostatin M (OSM), an IL-6 subfamily cytokine, inhibits proliferation and causes morphological changes in many tumor cell lines. GM-CSF, phorbol-12-myristate-13-acetate (PMA), and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induce OSM expression. To investigate the mechanisms governing OSM promoter activity, we have cloned and partially

Oncostatin M (OSM) is an interleukin-6 (IL-6) family cytokine known in particular to induce the synthesis of acute-phase proteins by hepatocytes. Because human polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN) can secrete numerous cytokines, the potential production of OSM by PMN was investigated. Highly
