Application

This recombinant variant is recommended for use in absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) pharmacological research; cell culture; drug delivery research; and cryopreservation of cells.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Albumins are soluble monomeric proteins found in the body fluids and tissues of animals and in some plant seeds. Serum albumin functions as a carrier protein for steroids, fatty acids, and thyroid hormones. Serum albumins are also vital in regulating the colloidal osmotic pressures of blood.

Features and Benefits

Cellastim^™ is a well defined, animal-free recombinant human albumin (rHA). Designed for cell culture applications, Cellastim is a powerful media supplement that outperforms plasma-derived human albumin, bovine serum albumin, and other sources of recombinant human albumin. Cellastim delivers consistent performance, not the variability associated with hydrolysates and extracts. Cellastim is ideally suited for use in cell culture media for Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO), hybridoma, VERO, stem cells and primary cells.

Hello! How long is this product stable (e.g. -20°C) once it is reconstituted?

  Stock solutions may be stored in aliquots at –20 °C for several months. Repeated freezing and thawing of solutions is not recommended.

There is no expiration date on the A9731-10G - how long is it stable in its lyophilized form when stored at ~4°C

  This product is not assigned an expiration or retest date. Products that are robust in nature and extremely stable, in the original unopened container, are not assigned an expiration date or retest schedule. These products will have no dating reported on either the label or the Certificate of Analysis. Products that are not assigned an expiration or retest date are covered by a warranty period of 1 year from the date of product shipment.

Is this obtained from cultures supplemented with media containing any form of steroids or animal derived components? Does it contain any form of sterioids as part of the impurities?

  This recombinant Albumin is extracted and purified from the seeds of Oryza sativa (rice) and not produced by culture methods. The material is considered animal component-free. The product is not tested for any residual steroid hormones native to this plant species.

"Does this HSA product contain free thiol at Cys34 (i.e., mercaptalbumin form)?"

Hello, does this construct include any affinity tags? Does it contain glycosylation?
