General description

Maneb is a manganese containing wide spectrum fungicide that belongs to the class of ethylene bis-dithiocarbamate (EBDC) compounds. It is commonly used to protect crops such as apples, pears, tobacco, grains, and beets.

Application

The maneb analytical standard can be used:

  • For the simultaneous determination of maneb along with its main metabolites from tomatoes using liquid chromatography
  • In the supramolecular liquid phase microextraction based UV-Vis spectrophotometric determination of maneb in food and water samples
  • For the spectrophotometric determination of maneb with 1-(2′-Pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (PAN)
  • To determine Maneb, Zineb, and their decomposition product with 2,6-dibromoquinone chlorimide (DBQ) and 2,6-dichloroquinone chlorimide (DCQ) by spectrophotometry
