General description

The eMcollect Cloth Swab is a specialized blue unwoven cloth specifically engineered for surface sampling in food safety and hygiene assessments. The swab has a honeycombed structure with dimensions of 34 x 16 cm and is essential for laboratories and food industry professionals seeking reliable and effective sampling solutions. The swab is used to check the quality of the disinfection processes, even in the presence of residual disinfectants on the sampled surface. The swab comes in an easy-to-open blue pre-cut sampling bag and a blank area for sample information. Distilled water with a 10 % neutralizing agent, calibrated to a dose of 10 mL, is used as a diluent. The bag is equipped with an adhesive closure label for sample protection.

Application

eMcollect Cloth Swab is used to sample microbes from surfaces in food processing environments, such as countertops, equipment, and utensils. This helps to check the presence of pathogens or contaminants, ensuring compliance with food safety standards. After cleaning and disinfection, the swabs can be used to verify the effectiveness of these processes. The common pathogens that can be detected include Listeria spp. and Salmonella spp.
