General description

Research area: CELL SIGNALING

Product Source: expressed in Sf21 Recombinant, human, full length ZAP-70 containing a C-terminal His6-tag

Zeta-chain-associated protein kinase 70 (ZAP-70) is a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase that consists of tandem SH2 (tSH2) domains at the beginning, linked with a long linker region, and a tyrosine kinase domain at the C-terminal end.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Protein Target: ZAP-70

Target Sub-Family: TK

Zeta-chain-associated protein kinase 70 (ZAP-70) plays a vital role in the development and function of T cells and natural killer cells. It interacts directly with the activated T-cell receptor and regulates downstream signals. In addition, ZAP-70 also mediates B-cell receptor (BCR) signaling. Mutations in ZAP-70 have been associated with severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) , and the development of autoreactive T cells that attack the joints.

The processes of T-cell development and activation employ similar immature and mature receptors as well as similar signal transduction pathways to achieve different outcomes. Many signaling molecules are shared between the receptor signaling pathways, including two families of cytoplasmic protein
