Nicotinamide, a member of the family of water-soluble B vitamins, is generally produced from nicotinic acid (vitamin B₃). It is often present in food products. It has been reported to have been effective in the treatment of pellagra, psoriasis, schizophrenia, and type I diabetes. It is also shown to possess anti-inflammatory activity.[1]

Application

Nicotinamide BP Reference standard, intended for use in laboratory tests only as specifically prescribed in the British Pharmacopoeia.
