Application

m-TEC ChromoSelect Agar is recommended by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) for differentiation and enumeration of thermotolerant Escherichia coli from water by membrane filtration technique. m-TEC ChromoSelect Agar has been used for membrane filtration of samples from the rivers, lakes and wetlands for subsequent isolation and culturing of Escherichia coli.

Preparation Note

Suspend 45.6 g in 1000 ml distilled water. Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 Ibs pressure (121 °C) for 15 minutes. Cool to 45-50°C and pour into sterile petri plates.

Footnote

We offer two media types: the superior granulated GranuCult® and the cost-efficient powdered NutriSelect® culture media, depending on your needs.
The designations basic, plus, or prime are added to indicate the quality control level, from basic quality control to standard QC plus to prime for full regulatory compliance.
