General description

The Rat MCP-1 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of rat MCP-1 in cell lysate and tissue lysate.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 2 (CCL2) or monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) is a pro-inflammatory factor expressed in astrocytes. It is synthesized by monocytes, B cells, fibroblast cells, endothelial and glial cells. CCL2 activates monocytes and regulates cytokine and adhesion molecule synthesis. The protein modulates neuropeptide function and development.
