Gene Information

human ... ASF1A(25842)

General description

ASF1a (anti-silencing function 1a) is a histone H3/H4 chaperone and chromatin regulator. This protein facilitates histone placement and histone removal and exchange during nucleosome assembly/disassembly and is essential for the formation of senescence-associated heterochromatic foci (SAHF). ASF1a interacts with chromatin assembly factor 1 (CAF-1) to promote replication-dependent chromatin assembly and with HIRA inside PML bodies of cells approaching senescence after p53/p21 activation.

Immunogen

GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to human ASF1a.

Application

Anti-ASF1a Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody for detection of ASF1a also known as Histone chaperone ASF1A or hAsf1 & has been validated in WB & IP.
Immunoprecipitation Analysis: A representative lot was used by an independent laboratory in IP. (Banumathy, G, et al. (2009). Mol Cell Biol. 29(3):758–770.)
