Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?
1 answer-
If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

Is an enzyme activation step of 55°C for 10 mins recommended if lysis was carried out at 4°C? If so, would the sample be mixed with the Mn solution first, followed by the arginine buffer after those 10 mins?
1 answer-
The technical bulletin for this kit indicates to bring all reagents to room temperature prior to the assay and to preheat the arginine buffer to 37°C. The 5X substrate buffer is prepared by mixing arginine buffer with Mn solution in the described volumes shown in table 1. The assay reaction is performed by adding 10 uL of the previously prepared 5X substrate buffer to each of the sample wells. The incubation is performed at 2 hours at 37°C. Please review the technical bulletin for specific instructions on performing this assay.

There is no indication to heat the enzyme to 55°C or to mix your sample individually with Mn solution followed by arginine buffer.

Is this kit suitable to work on nonhepatic (kidney, specifically) tissue derived from chickens?
1 answer-
This product has not been specifically tested for use in chicken kidney. However, it has been used successfully in a number of tissue types, including lung, neural, adipose, and tumor. This kit has also been successfully used with HEK 293T cells, which originate from embryonic kidney. Suitability would have to be determined by the end user. Please see the link below to review the product datasheet:

I would like to know whether this kit can be used with recombinant proteins and whether you recommend a specific one.
1 answer-
This kit detects and measures the arginase activity, enzymatically. There are no anticipated problems detecting recombinant arginase, provided that the protein is enzymatically active.
