One ml is sufficient for approximately 20 g tissue. Alternatively, depending on the application, it can be used effectively with a dilution factor in the range of 1:100-1:2000. The optimal working concentration should be determined for each individual application. A dilution of 1:200 typically works well as a starting concentration. This protease inhibitor cocktail set is a specially formulated cocktail of six protease inhibitors with broad specificity for the inhibition of aspartic, cysteine, and serine proteases as well as aminopeptidases. This cocktail is recommended for use with mammalian cells and tissue extracts, but is also suitable for bacterial extracts. It is provided as a single vial or as a set of 5 vials. Each vial contains 1 ml protease inhibitor cocktail solubilized in DMSO with a small amount of water.
Application
Protease Inhibitor Cocktail Set III, EDTA-Free has been used:
- as a component in CelLytic MT cell lysis reagent or lysis buffer to homogenize kidney organoids for immunoblot analysis[1]
- as a component in homogenization buffer to homogenize minced mouse quadriceps femoris muscle tissue[2]
- in lysis buffer to extract proteins for immunoblotting[3]
