General description

Myosin phosphatase targeting subunit 1 (MYPT1) is a regulatory targeting subunit that is thought to be responsible for targeting the holoenzyme to the proper positions in muscle and moving PP1 to myosin. MYPT1 is the major subunit involved in myosin light chain phosphatase (MLCP). It is also essential for vasodilation caused by nitric oxide (NO). A decrease in MYPT1 has been shown to play a role in increased tolerance of NO in pulmonary arteries.

Specificity

Other homologies: Rat (89% sequence homology).
This antibody recognizes Mypt1 phosphorylated at (Ser507).

Immunogen

Epitope: Phosphorylated (Ser507)
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human Mypt1 phosphorylated at (Ser507).

This Anti-phospho-Mypt1 (Ser507) Antibody is validated for use in WB for the detection of phospho-Mypt1 (Ser507).

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blot in untreated and PMA-treated NIH/3T3 cell lysates.

Western Blot Analysis: 2 µg/mL of this antibody detected Mypt1 in 10 µg of untreated and PMA-treated NIH/3T3 cell lysates.

Target description

~120 kDa observed.
Uniprot gives a calculated molecular weight of 115 kDa, which can be observed at higher molecular weights due to hyperphosphorylation. Uncharacterized bands appear at ~30 kDa and ~130 kDa in some lysates.

Physical form

Affinity purified
Purified rabbit polyclonal in buffer containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4) and 150 mM NaCl with 0.05% sodium azide.

Storage and Stability

Stable for 1 year at 2-8°C from date of receipt.

Analysis Note

Control
Untreated and PMA-treated NIH/3T3 cell lysates

The purpose of this study was to screen a bronchodilator from old drugs and elucidate the underlying mechanism. Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is a widely used analgesic and antipyretic drug. It has been reported that it inhibits the generation of prostaglandin and

The objective of this project was to find a bronchodilatory compound from herbs and clarify the mechanism. We found that the ethanol extract of Folium Sennae (EEFS) can relax airway smooth muscle (ASM). EEFS inhibited ASM contraction, induced by acetylcholine
