Application

Piroxicam has been used:

• for the induction of colitis in mice[1]
• as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug to increase the sensitivity to gut injury in interleukin-10 (IL-10) knockout mice[2]
• as a chemopreventive agent and as a positive control to study its effects on tumor growth in mice small intestine
