General description
Ceftiofur is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, which is commonly used in veterinary medicine for the treatment of respiratory diseases and bacterial infections in farm animals.[1]
Application
Ceftiofur has been used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in:
- Milk samples using receptor binding assays such as Betastar Combo, SNAP, and Twinsensor tests.
- Environmental water samples using capillary electrophoresis.
