General description

The MILLIPLEX® Human Circadian/Stress Bead Panel enables you to focus on the relevance and therapeutic potential of Melatonin and Cortisol in your research model. Coupled with the Luminex® xMAP® platform in a bead format, you receive the advantage of ideal speed and sensitivity, allowing quantitative multiplex detection of multiple analytes simultaneously, which can dramatically improve productivity.

The MILLIPLEX® Human Circadian/Stress Bead Panel is to be used for the simultaneous quantification of Cortisol and Melatonin. This is a configurable assay, and either or both analytes can be selected. This kit may be used for the analysis of human serum, plasma, tissue/cell lysate, culture supernatant samples, or cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Serum or plasma samples should be extracted using either the acetonitrile precipitation technique or the Waters 96-well HLB extraction plate. Please refer to the protocol for more information on both methods. The necessary components to perform the extractions are not included with this kit.

Panel Type: Neuroscience

Specificity

Cross Reactivty
There was no or negligible cross-reactivity between the antibodies for an analyte and any of the other analytes within a panel.

Application

  • Analytes: Cortisol, Melatonin
  • Recommended Sample type: serum, plasma, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), tissue/cell lysate, and culture supernatant samples
  • NOTE: Sample extraction protocols are required for serum/plasma samples. Other sample types (e.g. CSF, culture supernatant, saliva, etc.) do not require sample extraction.
  • Recommended Sample dilution: 1:4 for extracted serum and plasma or neat for CSF and culture supernatant
  • Assay Run Time: Overnight
  • Research Category: Neuroscience Metabolism
  • Research Subcategory: Category Metabolic Disorders Obesity Inflammation & Autoimmune Mechanisms
  • NOTE: This is a competitive assay
