Application

2-Methylimidazole can be used as:
  • A coordination regulator to fabricate 2D metal-organic framework-5 (MOF-5) nanosheet, which is used as an efficient catalyst for Knoevenagel condensation reaction.
  • An alkaline inducer in the synthesis of amorphous FeCoNi ternary hydroxide nanosheets applicable as an active electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution reaction.
  • A solvent system in combination with water to synthesize zeolitic imidazolate frameworks-8 (ZIF-8) membrane for the potential application in gas separation.
