Making Site Visits and Checkout a Snap with Persistent Login

September 1, 2023

Being logged into a website has its benefits, enhancing the user experience through personalized recommendations and providing access to features which are only available to registered users. Sometimes though users do not realize they aren’t logged in until prompted with a sign in request, interrupting the task efficiency.

Persistent login, commonly known as "remember me" functionality, is a website feature that allows users to remain logged in and authenticated even after closing their web browser or restarting their device. Instead of needing to re-enter login details every time, persistent login makes it possible to enjoy seamless access and the benefits of a personalized experience. SigmaAldrich.com introduced the persistent login functionality as of February 2023. In the interest of security and user privacy, we periodically ask users to re-verify when they attempt to access secure areas.

To enable persistent login, simply navigate to the login screen and check the box next to "Keep me signed in" before entering your login details. This will save your authentication information, so you won't need to enter it again for standard site activities unless you log out or clear your browser's cookies.
