The Tambar Group has developed a series of reactions to convert unactivated olefins into value-added products (e.g., allylic amination, allylic alkylation). The transformations developed by Tambar’s lab utilize bis(phenylsulfonyl)sulfur diimide (L511390) as a key component in activating olefins for selective chemical modification.

In addition to developing new chemical reactions, the Tambar Lab synthesizes biologically active natural products and small molecule inhibitors of challenging biological targets for the discovery of novel therapeutic agents.
