General description

Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins and are characterized by a remarkable biochemical diversity, represented in epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides. They range in molecular weight between 40 kDa and 68 kDa and isoelectric pH between 4.9 - 7.8. The individual cytokeratin polypeptides are designated 1 to 20. The various epithelia in the human body usually express cytokeratins which are not only characteristic of the type of epithelium, but also related to the degree of maturation or differentiation within an epithelium.Cytokeratin subtype expression patterns are used to an increasing extent in the distinction of different types of epithelial malignancies. The cytokeratin antibodies are not only of assistance in the differential diagnosis of tumors using immunohistochemistry on tissue sections, but are also a useful tool in cytopathology and flow cytometry.

Specificity

Cytokeratin 7. Reacts with specific glandular-type epithelia, and most carcinomas derived there from.

Immunogen

Cytoskeletal preparation of OTN-11 ovarian carcinoma cell line.

Application

Anti-Cytokeratin 7 Antibody, clone OV-TL 12/30 detects level of Cytokeratin 7 & has been published & validated for use in FC, WB, IC, IH(P).
Immunoblotting

Immunohistochemistry on frozen tissue sections fixed with methanol. The antibody is also effective on paraffin embedded tissue sections that have been pretreated with 0.1% pronase/0.1% trypsin in PBS, 0.5% pepsin in 0.01N HCl or microwave pretreatment.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.

Growth differentiation factor-11 (GDF-11), also known as bone morphogenetic protein-11, belongs to the transforming growth factor-beta superfamily. GDF-11 was first identified as an important regulator during embryonic development. Increasing evidence has demonstrated that GDF-11 regulates the development of various organs
