Gene Information

human ... NTSR1(4923)

General description

The neurotensin receptor 1 (NTSR1) gene has 4 exons and 3 introns and is 53.93 Kb long. NTSR1 is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) family. It consists of 4 extracellular and intracellular loops. It is expressed in the amygdal nucleus, ventral tegmental area, substantia nigra, striatum and entorhinal, and prefrontal cortices of the central nervous system.

Immunogen

Synthetic 18 amino acid peptide from N-terminal extracellular domain of human NTSR1. Percent identity with other species by BLAST analysis: Human, Gorilla, Gibbon, Monkey (100%); Elephant (94%); Marmoset (89%); Hamster (83%).

Application

Anti-NTSR1 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunohistochemistry (IHC) (1:500).

Biochem/physiol Actions

The neurotensin receptor 1 (NTSR1) plays a regulatory role in the initiation, proliferation, apoptosis, metastasis, and differentiation of tumors through several pathways. Overexpression of NTSR1 is seen in lung cancer, malignant prostatic tumors, and malignant cell lines. NTSR1 is a risk factor that participates in the progression of ductal breast cancer.

As a neuropeptide, neurotensin (NTS) is widely expressed in central and peripheral nervous system, which is mainly mediated byneurotensin receptor1 (NTSR1) to activate the related downstream signaling pathways. After summarized the function and mechanism of NTS/NTSR1 in various malignant tumors
