General description

6-Amino-1-hexanethiol hydrochloride(6-AHT) is an amine terminated alkanethiol which forms a self-assembled monolayer(SAM) on a variety of surfaces.

Application

6-AHT can be used in the surface modification of gold surface(Au) for the development of cell adhesive surfaces. It may also be used as a linker with quantum dots(QDs) which forms amine linkages with the carboxy groups of the fullerene heterodimers(FMH) which finds potential applications in molecular electronics.
