Application

Ovalbumin (257-264) chicken has been used to trigger T cell activation in immunology studies.
Ovalbumin (257-264) chicken has been used:
  • to sensitize mice to generate an asthmatic model
  • in the stimulation of splenocytes
  • for treating dendritic cells to be used as a positive control in cross-presentation studies

Biochem/physiol Actions

Ovalbumin (257-264) chicken is an antigenic peptide and triggers immune response. Administration of the ovalbumin peptide in pregnant mice helps in surpassing ear development anomalies.
SIINFEKL is a class I (Kb)-restricted peptide epitope of ovalbumin (OVA); the ovalbumin fragment is presented by the class I MHC molecule, H-2Kb.
