SUMO-conjugating enzyme UBC9 (UniProt: P63279; also known as RING-type E3 SUMO transferase UBC9, SUMO-protein ligase, Ubiquitin carrier protein 9, Ubiquitin carrier protein I, Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 I) is encoded by the UBE2I (also known as UBC9, UBCE9) gene (Gene ID: 7329) in human. SUMOylation is process that adds a small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) polypeptide to the -amino group of a lysine residue of proteins. UBC9 is a SUMO-conjugating enzyme 2 ligase that is expressed in multiple tissues, including heart, skeletal muscle, pancreas, kidney, liver, lung, placenta, brain, testis, and thymus. It accepts SUMO1, SUMO2, SUMO3, SUMO4 and SUMO1P1/SUMO5 from the UBLE1A-UBLE1B E1 complex and catalyzes their covalent attachment to other proteins with the help of an E3 ligase. It can catalyze the formation of poly-SUMO chains. Its UBC domain is localized in amino acids 4-157. It is reported to sumoylate p53/TP53 at lysine 386. Its expression is shown to increase during reprogramming of mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) into induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells and its suppression inhibits iPS cell induction. Knockdown of UBC9 is reported to decreases the expression of Nanog, Klf4, Oct4, and Sox2 in embryonic stem cells. UBC9 also has a cardioprotective role and is shown to improve cardiac function and ease left ventricle remodeling following myocardial infarction. Phosphorylation of serine 71 of UBC9 enhances its SUMOylation activity. This ZooMAb® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals. 外觀
Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.

Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
