General description

A stable-labled internal standard for quantitation of Clozapine levels in urine, serum, or plasma by LC/MS or GC/MS for clinical toxicology, forensic analysis, and urine drug testing applications. Clozapine, sold as Clozaril® and FazaClo® in the US, is an atypical antipsychotic drug used for treatment of schizophrenia.

Application

  • Clozapine-D₄ internal standard: A study demonstrated the application of Clozapine-D₄ as an isotopic internal standard in the quantitative LC-MS/MS therapeutic drug monitoring of clozapine and its metabolite norclozapine. This approach significantly enhances the accuracy of pharmacokinetic studies in psychiatric medicine, supporting clinicians in optimizing dosage for better therapeutic outcomes (Couchman et al., 2013).
