General description

The Human CEACAM-1 (Carcinoembryonic Antigen- related Cell Adhesion Molecule 1) ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of human CEACAM-1 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and urine.
Serum carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 1 (CEACAM1) is a transmembrane glycoprotein and is localized to endothelial, epithelial, lymphoid and myeloid cells. The CEACAM-1 gene is mapped to human chromosome 19q13.2.

Immunogen

Recombinant Human CEACAM1

Application

For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Please refer to the attached General ELISA KIT Procedure (sandwich, competitive & Indirect ELISA)

Biochem/physiol Actions

Serum carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 1 (CEACAM1) participates in cell adhesion mechanism through homophilic or heterophilic interactions. Abnormal expression of the CEACAM1 gene is observed in a number of tumors. Ceacam1 possesses tyrosine phosphatase, an inhibitory motif, via which the receptor activates its inhibitory signals.
