Gene Information

human ... IGHG1(3500)

Immunogen

IgG Fc human native protein.

Application

Anti-Human IgG (Fc specific) antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Ig γ-1 chain C region is a protein encoded by the IGHG1 gene in humans. Igγ-1 chain C region is present in human pancreatic cancer tissues and its expression is very low in adjacent noncancerous tissues. IGHG1 blockage leads to retarded tumor growth and improved survival. Its presence in pancreatic cancer cells might constitute an important element that is responsible for tumor cell proliferation and immune evasion mechanisms. IGHG1 is associated with prostate cancer and can inhibit cell viability leading to apoptosis. It may act as a potential target in prostate cancer gene therapy.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

Proteinuria is strongly associated with kidney disease progression but the mechanisms underlying podocyte handling of serum proteins such as albumin and IgG remain to be elucidated. We have previously shown that albumin and IgG are transcytosed by podocytes in vitro.
