General description

Transgelin, also known as 22 kDa actin-binding protein, Protein WS3-10, and Smooth muscle protein 22-alpha (SM22-alpha), is an actin cross-linking protein that is involved in cellular calcium interactions and contractile properties of the cytoskeleton contributing to replication and senescence in smooth muscle tissue. Transgelin is overexpressed in senescent human fibroblasts.

Immunogen

GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to human Transgelin/SM22a.

Application

Anti-Transgelin/SM22a Antibody, clone 20F2.2 is a highly specific mouse monoclonal antibody, that targets Transgelin & has been tested in western blotting & ICC.

Thoracic aortic perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT) is an adipose organ exhibiting similarities to brown adipose tissue (BAT), including cellular morphology and thermogenic gene expression. However, whether the PVAT phenotype is indistinguishable from the BAT phenotype in physiological vasculature remains unclear.

MALT1 (mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma translocation protein 1) is a human paracaspase protein with proteolytic activity via its caspase-like domain. The pharmacological inhibition of MALT1 by MI-2, a specific chemical inhibitor, diminishes the response of endothelial cells to inflammatory stimuli.
