General description

Dihydrotachysterol is a vitamin D analog in the reduced form, which has implications in the studies of calcemic and cell differentiating action of the hormone, 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3. It has been indicated as a medication for the treatment of hypoparathyroidism and renal osteodystrophy.

Application

Dihydrotachysterol may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in biological samples by chromatographic techniques.
