General description

Acetonitrile is a widely used organic solvent in reversed-phase liquid chromatography due to its high miscibility with water, suitable UV absorbance properties, and low viscosity characteristics.

Application

Acetonitrile can be used as a component in:
  • Mobile phase mixture for the HPLC analysis, to determine the purity of ester content (%FAME).
  • Mobile phase for the ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) analysis of perfluoroalkyl carboxylic and sulfonic compounds.
  • Mobile phase for high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), enabling the effective separation of TMP (trimethoprim) and SMX (sulfamethoxazole).
  • For sample preparation, including extraction, dilution, and dissolutionof compounds prior to analysis.
