General description

Histone H3 is one of the five main histone proteins involved in the structure of chromatin in eukaryotic cells. Featuring a main globular domain and a long N-terminal tail, H3 is involved with the structure of the nucleosomes of the ′beads on a string′ structure. Histone proteins are highly post-translationally modified, and Histone H3 is the most extensively modified of the five histones. Histone H3 sequence variants and variable modification states are thought to play a role in the dynamic and long term regulation of genes. Di- and tri-methylation of histone H3 are gene silencing marks, while removal of these marks by the demethylase genes Jmjd1a and Jmjd2c leads to gene activation. This product is a conjugated version of Cat. No. 06-570.

Immunogen

Linear peptide corresponding to Histone H3 phosphorylated at Ser10.

Application

Anti-phospho-H3 (Ser10), Alexa Fluor 647 Conjugate is a purified rabbit polyclonal antibody to detect Histone H3 phosphorylated at serine 10. This Ab is labeled with Alexa Fluor 647 and validated for use in IC. The unconjugated version of this antibody is published and proven in ICC, IP & WB.

Current models posit that nuclear speckles (NSs) serve as reservoirs of splicing factors and facilitate posttranscriptional mRNA processing. Here, we discovered that ribotoxic stress induces a profound reorganization of NSs with enhanced recruitment of factors required for splice-site recognition, including
