Gene Information

Specificity

Recognizes TRPC6 (Transient Receptor Potential-Like Channel 6, TRP-6). Does not cross react with any other known proteins.

SPECIES REACTIVITIES: It is expected that the antibody will also work on human due to sequence conservation (15/16). Other species have not been tested.

Immunogen

Peptide corresponding to amino acids 24-38 from mouse TRPC6 (Zhu et al. 1996). Accession Q61143

Application

Anti-TrpC6 Antibody is an antibody against TrpC6 for use in IH & WB.
Research Category
Neuroscience
Research Sub Category
Ion Channels & Transporters
Western blot:1:200-1:400 using ECL on rat brain membranes.
Immunohistochemstry on mouse brain sections.
Dilutions should be made using a carrier protein such as BSA (1-3%)
Addition of 0.1-0.5% Tween-20 to the antibody solution is recommended.
Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.

Physical form

Affinity purified immunoglobulin. Lyophilized from phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 1% BSA, and 0.05% sodium azide as a preservative. Reconstitute with 50 μL of sterile deionized water. Centrifuge antibody preparation before use (10,000 xg for 5 min).

Storage and Stability

Maintain lyophilized material at -20°C for up to 12 months after date of receipt. After reconstitution maintain at -20°C in undiluted aliquots for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Analysis Note

Control
CONTROL ANTIGEN: Included free of charge with the antibody is 40 μg of control antigen (lyophilized powder). The stock solution of the antigen can be made up using 100 μL of sterile deionized water. For negative control, preincubate 1 μg of peptide with 1 μg of antibody for one hour at room temperature. Optimal concentrations must be determined by the end user.

Other Notes

Concentration: Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration.

Various magnetic deep brain stimulation (DBS) methods have been developing rapidly in the last decade for minimizing the invasiveness of DBS. However, current magnetic DBS methods, such as magnetothermal and magnetomechanical stimulation, require overexpressing exogeneous ion channels in the central

Recently, we have reported that transient receptor potential channel-6 (TRPC6) plays an important role in the regulation of neuronal excitability and synchronization of spiking activity in the dentate granule cells (DGC). However, the underlying mechanisms of TRPC6 in these phenomena

Transient receptor potential canonical channel-6 (TRPC6) is one of the Ca2+-permeable non-selective cation channels. TRPC6 is mainly expressed in dentate granule cell (DGC), which is one of the most resistant neuronal populations to various harmful stresses. Although TRPC6 knockdown evokes

Dopaminergic (DA) neurons of mouse and rat retinas are of the interplexiform subtype (DA-IPC), i.e., they send processes distally toward the outer retina, exhibiting numerous varicosities along their course. The primary question we addressed was whether distally located DA-IPC varicosities
