General description

Anti-Calnexin Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Calnexin protein.

CANX (calnexin) is an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) chaperone. It has a molecular weight of 67kDa. It is a type I transmembrane protein and is located on human chromosome 5q35.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Calnexin.

Immunogen Range: 543-592

Biochem/physiol Actions

CANX (calnexin) participates in protein folding and quality control. It is responsible for glycan-independent interaction and retention of mutated Gas3/PMP22 (growth arrest-specific protein 3/peripheral myelin protein 22) proteins involved in Charcot-Marie-Tooth 1A and Dejerine Sottas syndrome.
